Steve Atwood, Project Manager
Project Manager Stephen "Steve" Atwood meets with clients, oversees contractors on the job, estimates and purchases the required materials, and handles city and county code inspections. He divides his time between working with vendors and suppliers, managing delivery of product and materials, and scheduling subcontractors at the job site. He oversees every phase of the project, and works with the architect in conveying his concept directly to the craftsman-installer.
Steve’s interest in home building began as a teenager in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After discovering a Frank Lloyd Wright House, he became fascinated with contemporary residential design. Then In 1978 Steve & his wife visited Williamsburg Virginia, where he came to appreciate traditional style and design, symmetry, formality and perfect proportions -- in essence, the Colonial Revival style.
Today Steve combines his eye for the functionality of contemporary design with the visual balance and elegance of traditional home building.
He has developed his expertise mostly by 'hands on' projects, starting with his family's homes. In 2004 he had the great fortune of being an understudy to Tom Hartley, project manager with Buckhead Georgia home builders Johnson & Williams LLC, where he did everything from working with subcontractors, architects, city building officials and inspectors; to providing monthly project construction updates to the resident manager and homeowner’s association, keeping everyone happy during the construction.
As a certified DDI “Service Plus” customer service presenter, Steve is skilled in explaining and satisfying clients’ misunderstandings and concerns.
Steve joined forces with the Paces Ferry Builders team in the fall of 2013, and works directly with Guy Cherwonuk, President & Senior Project Manager. Their passion and vision for building Atlanta’s finest homes is a perfect fit for both.
